Overview

We explain below which personal data we process on this website, for what purposes, and on what legal basis. “Personal data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

Controller

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have in particular the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to certain processing activities. Data retention

We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes stated in each case or as required by statutory retention obligations. If you withdraw consent or request deletion, we will delete the data unless legal reasons or overriding legitimate interests prevent this.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, unauthorised access, and misuse. Data transmission is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).

Hosting and server log files

Our website is hosted by an external hosting provider. In the course of operating the website, the hosting provider processes server log files in order to provide the website and ensure security. In particular, the following data may be processed: accessed URL, date and time, referrer URL, browser/device information, and IP address.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website). We have concluded a data processing agreement with the hosting provider (Art. 28 GDPR).

Server-side statistics (AWStats)

Our hosting provider makes server-side access statistics available to us via AWStats. No cookies are used for this. The evaluation is based on server log files and serves technical analysis (e.g. error/load analysis) and security purposes. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Where is data processed?

Processing by service providers we use takes place within the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland. Switzerland is recognised by the EU as providing an adequate level of data protection.

Communication

Contact form

If you contact us via the contact form, we process the information you provide (e.g. name, email address, message) in order to handle your enquiry. The data is received server-side, stored in our database, and additionally forwarded to us by email for internal notification.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (handling enquiries) and—where the enquiry is aimed at entering into a contract or pre-contractual steps—Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Booking request (requesting experts)

If you request an expert session via the booking/request form, we process the data provided in the form (e.g. contact details, school and your message) in order to review, coordinate, and respond to the request. The data is received server-side, stored in our database, and additionally forwarded to us by email for internal notification.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures/organisation of the requested session) and/or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (handling and organising the request).

Retention (forms)

We store form data for as long as necessary to process and document the request. Completed enquiries are generally deleted after an appropriate period, unless statutory obligations or the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims require longer retention.

We send a newsletter at irregular intervals with educational content, updates about new experts who have joined our network, and recaps of selected sessions (“Best of”). The newsletter is intended solely for information and networking in the education context and does not pursue commercial or advertising purposes.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you sign up with your email address and confirm your subscription via the double opt-in procedure. We store the time of sign-up, the time of confirmation, and technical data (e.g. IP address) in order to be able to prove your consent.

For sending the newsletter, we process your name and email address. Additional information (e.g. school) is optional and is only processed if you provide it.

We store your data for as long as you are subscribed to the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in each email or by contacting us directly. After unsubscribing, we remove your data from the active mailing list. To prevent further mailings and to document your unsubscribe request, your email address may remain stored on a suppression list.

The newsletter is sent on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
